When I was young, before I learned to masturbate morbidly, a childhood friend and I were at this carnival. We were standing in line to get a candy apple or something at this concession stand. There was this average, normal-looking guy in front of us, a complete stranger, and he said to this other guy he was with, "I sure am hungry". I mean, it was a completely normal thing for him to say; it wasn't spectacular in the least. It wasn't even funny but for some reason my friend and I looked at one another and busted out laughing. Then for some reason we both remembered it. As the years went by, all through grade school and high school, whenever the two of us were together and bored, we'd look at one another and say "I sure am hungry" before busting out laughing about it again like retards. We never analyzed why we thought it was so hilarious- it just was.
So awhile back, I started thinking about this again after all this time. I haven't seen or heard from my childhood friend in about 12 years, but I managed to look up his parents’ address, hoping they still lived there and could forward a letter to him wherever he was now living. I sent him a postcard, not knowing if my friend would get it or if he’d even remember me. All I wrote on it was "I sure am hungry".
Today, I got a postcard back from him. All it said was "HAHAHA! I remember that! I sure am hungry too!"
